As a Christian mother of three, a military wife, and a business owner, my journey through parenting has been nothing short of a faith-filled adventure. Navigating the transition from raising dependent children to guiding independent adults has been both challenging and rewarding. Through it all, I've learned to lean on God's plan and embrace the grace that comes with letting go.
Raising children in a military family comes with its own set of unique hurdles. Deployments, frequent relocations, and the ever-present uncertainty can make stability feel like a luxury. Yet, amidst the chaos, my faith has been my anchor. Trusting in God's plan has allowed me to find peace in the midst of uncertainty and strength in times of weakness.

As my children grew into adulthood, I found myself facing a new set of challenges. Letting go of the reins and allowing them to make their own decisions wasn't easy. As a mother, it's natural to want to protect and guide your children, but there comes a point when you have to trust that you've instilled in them the values and principles they need to navigate life on their own.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned in parenting adult children is the importance of communication and boundaries. It's essential to maintain open lines of communication while also respecting their autonomy. As they forge their own path, they will undoubtedly make mistakes, but it's through these experiences that they will grow and learn.
With a background in in Healthcare Administration, I've witnessed firsthand the importance of fostering independence and resilience in young adults. The healthcare industry is fast-paced and ever-evolving, and it requires individuals who can think critically and adapt to change. By allowing my children to take ownership of their decisions and learn from their mistakes, I'm preparing them for the challenges that lie ahead.
But perhaps the most challenging aspect of parenting adult children is learning to let go of control and surrendering them to God's care. It's easy to fall into the trap of worrying about their future, but I've found solace in knowing that God has a plan for each of them, and it's far greater than anything I could ever imagine.
Trusting in God's plan doesn't mean relinquishing responsibility entirely; it means surrendering our anxieties and fears and placing our trust in His unfailing love and wisdom. It's a daily practice of letting go of our own desires and allowing God to work in the lives of our children in His perfect timing.
As I continue on this journey of parenting adult children, I'm reminded daily of the importance of faith, grace, and trust. While the road may be fraught with challenges and uncertainties, I take comfort in knowing that God is always by my side, guiding me every step of the way. And as I watch my children spread their wings and soar, I'm filled with gratitude for the privilege of being their mother and the assurance that they are in the hands of a loving and faithful God.
