My life is a constant balancing act. Navigating the demands of modern culture while maintaining our Christian faith can be challenging, but it's a journey filled with grace and growth. I hope my story and insights can offer encouragement to fellow parents striving to find this balance.

First and foremost, our faith is the cornerstone of our family. With my husband often away on deployments, it's essential to create a home environment that reflects our Christian values. We start each day with family prayer and devotionals. This not only grounds us in our faith but also strengthens our bond as a family. Despite the busyness of life, we make time for these moments of connection, ensuring our children understand the importance of putting God first.
In the modern age, technology is an unavoidable part of our children's lives. While it brings incredible opportunities, it also poses significant challenges. We've established clear boundaries around screen time and internet use, ensuring our kids engage with content that aligns with our values. We regularly discuss the impact of media and social networks, teaching them to discern and critically evaluate what they consume. Open conversations about the digital world help them navigate it wisely and faithfully.
Balancing my role as a CEO with parenting requires intentionality. I involve my children in my work when appropriate, showing them the importance of diligence and stewardship. They see firsthand that my work is not just a job but a ministry, serving others through healthcare administration. This perspective helps them understand that faith isn't confined to Sundays but is woven into every aspect of our lives.
Community plays a vital role in our faith journey. As a military family, we move frequently, but we always prioritize finding a local church. The support and fellowship we receive from our church family are invaluable. It provides a sense of stability for our children, showing them the global nature of the Body of Christ. They learn that no matter where we go, our faith community is a constant source of support and encouragement.
One of the most significant challenges we face is instilling Christian values in a society that often contradicts them. We teach our children to love and respect everyone, even those with different beliefs. This principle of love and respect is rooted in the teachings of Jesus. We emphasize that while we hold firm to our beliefs, we must also be a light in the world, demonstrating Christ’s love through our actions.
As parents, we lead by example. Our children observe our behavior, attitudes, and how we handle challenges. They see us turn to prayer in difficult times, rely on scripture for guidance, and serve others with compassion. These daily acts of faith are powerful lessons for them.
In conclusion, balancing faith and culture in the modern age is not always easy, but it's a rewarding endeavor. By grounding our family in prayer, setting clear boundaries, involving our children in our work and community, and leading by example, we can navigate these challenges. As a Christian mother, military wife, and CEO, I am constantly learning and growing in this journey. I trust that with God’s guidance, we can raise children who are not only resilient in their faith but also compassionate and wise in the ways they engage with the world.
